Sam Tegel joined ElectronX as CEO in 2023 after more than two decades of experience in global electronic markets, with senior roles at principal trading firms, hedge funds and fintech disruptors across equities, fixed income, FX, futures and digital assets. Prior to joining ElectronX, Sam served as Senior Strategy Development Officer to the Chief Trading Officer at Millennium Management, where he advised on higher-turnover strategies and proprietary trading firm investments; and Head of Liquidity Strategy at Jump Trading, where he built global market-making businesses across several asset classes.

Prior to these corporate strategy roles, Sam led market making and trading desks at principal trading firms including Sun Trading, where he managed the U.S. equities market-making team alongside the firm’s quantitative research efforts; and Caherciveen Partners, where he built the firm’s U.S. equities desk and managed its fixed income trading team as Head of Trading.

In 2018, Sam founded Sage Capital Markets, a C-suite advisory services firm providing market structure expertise, corporate strategy, team building and deal flow generation consulting to trading industry participants, investor groups and technology providers, where his clients have included Millennium Management, Boston Consulting Group, 7RIDGE, Raft Technologies and Rally, among others.

Sam currently serves on the board of directors at Spline Data, a quantitative municipal bond market data firm. He earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from Northwestern University and is a CFA charterholder.
