Dan Hoban

Dan Hoban joined ElectronX in 2025 with nearly 20 years in the financial services industry, specializing in trading advisory, regulatory strategy, and operational efficiency. Dan most recently served as the US Head of Trading Advisory at Optiver, a leading market-making and proprietary trading firm. In this role, he led a team of three, focusing on compliance reviews, internal controls, and strategic development. Prior to joining Optiver, Dan was the Chief Compliance Officer at Belvedere Trading, where he oversaw the firm’s compliance program and played a key role in assisting the C-suite with expanding business lines and onboarding new trading desks. Earlier in his career, Dan served as the Futures Compliance Officer at DRW, where he developed and implemented compliance policies, collaborated on the creation of trade surveillance tools, and provided guidance during regulatory audits and inquiries. Dan’s experience also includes roles at SG Americas Securities (formerly Newedge), where he served as a compliance officer, and at Cboe Global Markets and CME Group, where he worked as an investigator in their market regulation departments. He began his career on the trading floor of the Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT), working as a clerk and options trader in the corn options and US Treasury options pits. Known for his ability to mentor and build high-performing teams, Dan has a proven track record of driving compliance initiatives that align with business objectives while ensuring strict adherence to ever-evolving regulatory standards. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Finance from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign (2005) and an MBA from DePaul University (2014).
