Alastair Hawker joined ElectronX in 2025 with 23 years of experience in financial markets, specializing in listed derivatives and electronic trading. Prior to joining ElectronX, Alastair served as Global Head of Futures Electronic Execution at Citigroup Global Markets, responsible for the product globally and for client distribution in North America. Alastair started his career at Goldman Sachs in London as an Equity Derivatives sales trader, covering institutional clients trading futures, listed options, OTC options and equity swaps. He then became a specialist in cash equities electronic trading, helping to build Goldman Sachs' Financial Service Provider business and internalization strategy. His experience expanded into quant hedge funds and proprietary trading firms, and spanned clearing as well as execution. In 2010, Alastair moved to New York and covered similar clients across both execution and clearing at Goldman Sachs' GSEC unit before being appointed to run Futures Electronic Execution. After leaving Goldman Sachs, Alastair served as Global Head of Sales at Quantitative Brokers, a provider of execution algorithms and analytics, where he helped to expand the firm’s institutional reach and revenue growth prior to its majority acquisition by Deutsche Börse in 2020. Alastair graduated with a 1st class degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Birmingham, UK.
